For your first visit to Commonwealth Massage Therapy, schedule a First-Time Client Session. The required health and information forms will be available to you during the online scheduling process. This first sessions allows me the opportunity to get to know you and better understand your goals for integrating massage therapy into your wellness routine, as well as your goals for this initial session.  If you are seeking oncology or prenatal massage at your first visit, still select this option and indicate in the notes during the scheduling process your need for a specialized session. Feel free to email me with any questions!

Intentional, gentle pressure is used to promote relaxation, target and ease muscle tension, calm the nervous system, help improve range of motion, promote muscle recovery, and aid in a multitude of health benefits.  A variety of pressures (light to firm) and techniques will be used throughout the session to make this a truly customized experience.  

Oncology massage incorporates a variety of techniques to address the side effects of cancer treatments (medications, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, etc.). This can range from physical discomforts to insomnia, anxiety and depression, general fatigue, reduction of stress, improved peripheral neuropathy, improved body self-image, and so much more.  Oncology sessions are not deep tissue!

• If you are currently going through medical treatments for cancer, please inform your doctor and complete an oncology-specific medical form prior to your first visit.

Prenatal-specific techniques can reduce pregnancy discomforts and concerns and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. This massage session is performed with the mother laying on her side with pillows for comfort and support.

• Women who have recently experienced bleeding, pre-term contractions, or have any of the following conditions should speak with their doctor PRIOR to receiving a massage (you may not be able to safely receive massage therapy at this time):
  • High risk pregnancy
  • Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH)
  • Preeclampsia
  • Previous pre-term labor
  • Experiencing severe swelling, high blood pressure, or sudden, severe headaches
• Please note that there will be prenatal-specific medical form to be completed before your first session.
